Summer is flying by

I think about coming upstairs, hopping on the computer and writing about our day - everyday. But, there seems to be less time to write about the memories. We're simply making them this summer. By the end of the day, after swimming, playing and running after two kids ... there is no energy left for writing.

Beckman has started to talk more. He is quite the character. He spends a lot of time playing with his Wiggles car, his Wiggles guitar, dancing to the Wiggles .. you get the picture. Lukas started swimming lessons a few weeks back. He was into for awhile but then went sour on his instructor. I'm not sure of the exact reason. He loves his floaties because he feels like he has so much freedom in the pool. We are going to work with him over the next few weeks and see if we can 'hide' those floaties. They both love going to the pool. We have already spent countless hours there. The water is still somewhat refreshing. Another few weeks, and it will be like bath water.

Lukas loves the beach the best. Almost everyday he asks to go to the beach. It's difficult for me to take them by myself, so we really only go on the weekends. There was a shark bite two weeks ago not very far from where we swim. Scary. Of course, if you really think about what it is in that ocean, you would never go in.

This weekend we have the annual Bollinger Pool Party on the 4th. We always enjoy ourselves there. We will not be attending the fireworks this year. Hopefully, next year we will try it. Beckman is still a bit too young. Saturday we have a cookout to go to for a friend we haven't seen in a long time. Hans is thinking about taking Monday off. We actually have plans to finish the garage. Gasp! We are pretty determined to finally get ahold of the garage madness. Cross your fingers for us!

July will see friends come to visit! ...all the way from Costa Rica, Australia and good 'ol Arkansas. I will be introducing them all to the new drink of Charleston...Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. Make with some splashes of water and a lemon (or an Arnold Palmer) Great stuff. It has taken this town by storm. You can't taste the alcohol and it's refreshing. If you get the chance to try it, do yourself a favor and ride on the firefly train!

Here are some pictures from this afternoon .. hanging out in the backyard and painting on the back porch. Happy Fourth of July!

Ice Cream and Paint make for a beautiful mess!

Blurry but still so stinkin' cute

Beckman ran around this pole forever this afternoon.

An artist in the making - Before Lukas stopped painting, he decided to paint his and Beckman's faces. He would of painted his whole body if we hadn't of stopped him.

Helping Daddy pick veggies... we have mounds of cucumber, tomatoes, peppers etc.
