The last month, we have five grandparents come for visits. (I am behind on my journaling/blogging.) This past weekend, Lille and Thorkil (Hans' parents) came to visit from Maryland for a few days. We hit the beach on Saturday. It was a beautiful day. The water was a bit chilly, even by Lukas' standards. After about 90 minutes, we packed up and headed to Coconut Joes for lunch. The boys actually lasted another hour and a half. (through naptime even) They were both asleep within two minutes of being in the car. That night, we sat up drinking wine telling stories. Lille's story of her with three kids under 8 yrs old traveling with 17 carry-on bags, 9 large pieces of luggage, Hans (4 yrs old) on a leash..going through customs with no help - was priceless. I am still laughing.
On Sunday, we headed downtown to the HarborFest. They had a big kid's area set up. You could make a wooden boat and pull it around this blow up pool area. Of course, Beckman did a dive into the mini-pool. Hans caught him in mid-jump, so only half of him got drenched. Lukas spent a long time in one of the jump castles. We then headed down to the water. Lille and I scored two seats in a prime location for people watching. It was under a tree and Beckman took a nap on my shoulder for an hour. Fantastic! After about 4 hours, we headed home to hang out for the rest of the day. They had to leave Monday morning. As Lille said, it was intense but relaxing.
