About a month ago, we noticed one of Beckman's front teeth was a bit dark - as in black dark. I took him to the dentist and they said there had been trauma to the tooth/nerve (by exam and x-ray). We would have to watch it and come back in a month. It could die (nerves) and abscess - which means he would have to go under to for 'tooth' surgery .. or it would eventually lighten up. It was also just a tad bit loose.
His checkup was yesterday and the Dentist said it had latched in there with a stronger hold (my words - can't remember his exact words) and he was hopeful...BUT, we aren't out of the woods yet. We need to look for white bumps up on his gums. He said it will probably not go back to being white (maybe, but most likely not).
As the Mama -- I just want it to stay in there. If not, he will be the one tooth wonder for another FIVE years until the perm. teeth come in.
How did it happen? He is constantly banging into this and that .. he is really a tough little boy and unfortunately, he has a high tolerance for pain. This is not good when he has a wild streak. One day at MMOut, he fell on their equipment - he had been there for about 15 mins before I had to head back and get him. There was another day a few weeks after where he fell/bumped into something or another and actually had bleeding in that area by his tooth. ugh! My poor baby!
We also found out that he does not have permanent teeth on either side of his front teeth (don't know what these particular teeth are called). Come to find out, his Grandmother (Mormor) doesn't either. We had better start saving now... braces for both and all sorts of teeth 'stuff' is in our future.

Hopefully it will hang in there tight!! In the event it doesn't, you can always get those fake teeth that those poor young girls in the toddler padgets get when they are going through the "snaggle tooth" years. In any event, good luck and miss you! Kimberly
